Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Lillie's draw towards design and entertaining flourished from a young age. Some of her favorite memories include moments with her Grandmother, who was an Interior Decorator, observing and admiring everything she did. Lillie loved playing with her fabric swatch books, visiting showrooms in High Point or the Atlanta Market together, and carefully watching her so perfectly setting the table for the holidays or special occasions.

With an appreciation for Southern traditions and an eye for design, Lillie made moves to Charleston, SC the day she graduated from the University of Georgia. She began her career interning with a prominent Charleston-based planner and instantly fell in love with the thrill of putting together the perfect soiree and all the details that came with it.

Shortly after, she began working with another well-known planning and design firm in Charleston which is where she really got her footing and established her expertise with event planning. After almost four years of growing and learning, Lillie moved to Washington, DC on a whim to work for a local luxury lifestyle magazine and help launch their new weddings magazine, Modern Luxury Weddings DC. It was the experience of a lifetime to learn the ins and outs of publishing, attend invite-only events in our Nation's Capital, have her first Masthead and byline credit (she did some writing too!) all while launching a weddings magazine and planning the events for the launch - talk about the dream!

Eventually, the South called her back and she happily obliged. Her experiences combined, she found herself in the perfect position to do what she had always wanted to - launch Sarah Lillie Designs. With experience in planning events from South Carolina to Sonoma, CA, Virginia, New York, and more - her resume is not one to be overlooked.
